Dream City is the place for the South District community and greater Iowa City to become a resilient regional hub for community building and regenerative economic development for underrepresented communities.

Provide a safe place for people in the neighborhood to come together. A safe place to take risks and cultivate a growth mindset. A safe place for people from many different walks of life to feel welcome and a sense of pride.

All Roads Lead to Home

Dream City has been the hub and incubator of many organizations and events in the South District. This project will give the people that Dream City serves a space to be proud of. Dream City can be an example that other neighborhoods can emulate to create a similar hub in their community. Design should serve to empower the community.
