The Des Moines Civic Center is a lynchpin in the urban fabric of our city. This project allows the performers and team members to be integrated into the energy created by the function of this space in the Des Moines community. The rich sense of place as seen in the public areas of the Civic Center can be extended to offer the same energy and experience to the office and performer spaces within.
Flexible Platform
Functional and adaptable outcomes are central to the success of this project by upgrading spaces to provide accessibility and equal access to all. Proper lighting, updated interior finishes, and a comfortable work environment will allow staff and performers to become more connected and collaborative, while suiting the needs required by each individual performance.
Orientation
Architectural cues, referential to the Civic Center experience, throughout the space will help to create an easy to understand and efficient flow. Maximizing the use of dedicated circulation will help combine function to suit the needs and purposes of the Des Moines Performing Arts staff, performers and crew.
