Optimism
As a pro-bono project, the Grace Birth Center aims to create a safe place for expecting mothers and young women. The project will improve upon the infrastructure that’s already in place and create a stronger connection to the surrounding community.
Endurance
With the shortage of typical building material, the Grace Birth Center is designed to use local materials. The rammed earth walls will be constructed out of the earth on which the project is located.
People
The Grace Birth Center will create a space where the community can gather to learn about their health. The cultural influences of how the Haitian people live were taken into account throughout the design, which lead to the creation of additional exterior shared space.
