First, we documented the existing building to understand the unique + challenging features such as its depth. Then we brainstormed with the owner about possible uses, including artist lofts, office space, galleries + the like.
We assisted the owner with the pro-forma by showing several programming solutions. Our 3-D visualizations helped develop design solutions. We also evaluated whether ge Wattier Architecture [Slingshot] should create a new office within the building.
As one of the East Village’s first mixed-use office + residential condominium projects, today it enjoys full occupancy. With an eclectic mix of original building architecture + new modern ideas, the building has become a great place to live + work. There are 13 residences and 4 commercial spaces. EVC is also home to Slingshot.
