The objectives: Contribute to the downtown Court Avenue renaissance with urban living spaces. Design + build place-specific architecture. Create hip, economical one- + two-story residential units for sale below $200/sf.
To differentiate the condos from the adjoining Market Place Lofts, we broke down the building’s massing into smaller forms similar to historic buildings in the area. The dimensions + detailing playfully respond to the brick buildings along 4th between Court + Walnut Street, as well as the old train depot to the south.
Residential condo sales are moving quicker and values have risen, making them the most successful residential condos in downtown. Hubbell’s goals of low-cost + marketable units were merged with our urban placemaking. We delivered value with construction costs of $105/gsf, inclusive of an underground parking garage. To create a strong sense of place, we created street life, residential community + interactive spaces.
